The Sky’s the Limit at Infinity
ADWEEK Magazine, November, 2007
When it come to experiential marketing, it doesn’t get much better than doing word for Donald Trump. That’s what Infinity marketing Team found when they company was selected to be the official even agency for the finale of Trump’s The apprentice on NBC. Under a rushed deadline–what else with The Donald?–Infinity Marketing Team staffers helped craft a hugely successful comedy show/ charity event for Yahoo.
Hollywood Boulevard was transformed into a winter wonderland in the middle of the summer
“It was a lot of fun and a lot of pressure,” said Infinity Marketing Team president Chad Tons, who appeared on the episode. “But is was similar to what we do for all of our clients, where we bring together all the necessary resources that make for a powerful event, even under tight deadlines.”
The company with offices in New York: Vail, Colo.; and Hawaii in addition to it’s headquarters in Hollywood, Calif.–has had brushes with fame before. When Fox wanted a movie premier to remember for its Ice Age II, it turned to IMT. The result: Hollywood Boulevard was transformed into a winter wonderland in the middle of the summer, complete with an ice rink, ice pillars, man-made snow and snowmobiles.
“That’s a good example of how creative we can get when we have a little bit of a budget,” Said Tons. “The sky, almost literally, is the limit.”
MT’s latest challenge is a message promotion for longtime client Hewlett-Packard that targets small to midsize businesses. As part of the campaign, potential customers will be able to demo HP ink-jet and laser printers as well as other cutting-edge office equipment. Sounds fairly simple, right? Except that this effort will run simultaneously in about 1,000 retail locations across the country for several years.
“We like to structure these long campaigns that run over a period of time because they’re a very effective way to show the client return on investment,” Tons said.
